Beach bums have a lot to look forward to at Covelong Point Surf And Music Festival. The multi-arts festival promises a one-of-its-kind experience at its second edition, scheduled to take place from September 12-14 at Kovalam, which is 40 kms from Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The weekend festival is being held at what organisers claim is “India’s first surfing village”. Its highlight will be the surfing competition, which will witness national and international surfers vying for the trophy. The music line-up features a variety of Indian artistes such as The Raghu Dixit Project, Kutle Khan Project, Delhi Sultanate & Begum, Filter Coffee as well as the Mauritian band Tritonik.

Choosing places to surf that will help you develop your expertise and help you move onto the next level is important because it would make you feel like you are progressing. Even when you are planning on relaxing, it’s good to choose the best surf destinations so that you can get good accommodation on beaches where you know you will be able to catch good waves. Whether you are planning a holiday focused more on learning or to loosen up, it’s beneficial to choose places that can provide you with something that you haven’t seen before.

The 3-day event will also host yoga and meditation classes and the screening of Beyond The Surface, a documentary about India’s first female surfer, Isita Malaviya.
