The folks who made the Bacardi NH7 Weekender possible have yet another blistering announcement for us. After recently announcing the expansion of the weekender to Shillong, a brand new festival called Stage 42 is set for a seven-city takeover this February – March. Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Puneย will stage the nationwide festival between February and March 2015. Stage42 puts together a handpicked selection of artists and experiences, performing at a variety of different venues in each of these cities through the course of the festival. From huge stand-up comedy acts, to exciting musical sets in clubs, to unique theatre performances, this festival will give fans enough reasons to step out of their homes and have a great time.

Kanan Gill and Biswa Kalyan

Scheduled to host more than 150 shows, so far a host of comediansย Russell Peters (who will be bringing his ‘Almost Famous’ Tour to four Indian cities), Bill Burr, AIB, Kanan Gill and Biswa Kalyan (of Pretentious Movie Reviews), Anuvab Pal, Abish Mathews have been locked down for performances all across the country – Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Hyderabad. In music, expect a wide spectrum of musical performances, from Nucleya to Bhayanak Maut. Stage42 will also see some spectacular theatre shows including Akhtari, Dastangoi and more.Stage42 will also host multiple club nights in each city and these will include performances by bass monster Nucleya, indie folk band Swarathma & Friends, comedy rock band Vir Dasโ€™ Alien Chutney, stand-up comedian Biswa Kalyan Rath of Pretentious Movie Reviews, comedy collectives The Improvisers & SNG Improv, India’s first reggae sound system, Reggae Rajahs, and many more.
