The Prime Minister will attend the Global Citizen Festival in New York, USA; will be joined by Bangladesh’s PM Sheikh Hasina, Norway premier Erna Solberg and U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon
Guess what? The leaders of India, Bangladesh, Norway and the United Nations are set to appear at the Global Citizen Festival on September 27 in New York’s Central Park. The event will be headlined by Tiesto and Jay-Z.
Other acts on the line-up include stars such as Fun, Carrie Underwood, The Roots, and No Doubt. Actors Hugh Jackman, Jessica Alba and Katie Holmes will be hosting the festival.
Tickets are free for the event, but they must be earned through “rewards” gathered by “taking action” to mitigate poverty.
The primary aim of Global Citizen is to serve as platform to raise awareness about various issues, especially those affecting the poor, and to find opportunities to support campaigns and organisations that help towards sustainable change.
The festival coincides with the U.N.’s annual gathering of world leaders at its headquarters in the city. Know more about the initiative HERE.
