DAY ONE

The first day of the first edition of 2014 Weekender edition features quite a few music gems. The headliners for the day will be the Australian electronic music duo Peking Duk.

5.30 – 6.15: The F16s

This young band has hit all the right in the past one year, and with their trippy music, amassed quite a fan following. Head for their set and rest assured you won’t regret.

6.30 – 7.30: SICKFLIP

The “bass-heavy solo project” boasts of a diverse mood palette, and makes for a perfect mid-evening act to catch.

7.45 – 8.15: B.R.E.E.D

After an enchanting hour-long set by SICKFLIP, a short gig by the electronic music duo B.R.E.E.D seems just right.

8.15-845: Monica Dogra

The multi-talented artiste, who has enthralled attendees at every edition at Weekender so far will be springing surprises at her solo set.

8.45 onward: Amit Trivedi

If the buzz around his upcoming performance is anything to go by, the composer-singer will be playing the most anticipated set on day one of the Kolkata edition. Expect the unexpected from this headliner who will be collaborating with a bevy of singers and musicians. They’ll be plenty of happy, soulful and jaw-dropping in his set. What’s not to like?

6.45 – 7.30: SICKFLIP

7.35- 8.15: Them Clones

The Delhi-based band is known for its infectious energy and frontman Prithwish Dev’s matchless stage presence. Don’t miss this set.

8.20 – 8.45: B.R.E.E.D

Take a little mood break and head for a quick set by the electronic music duo B.R.E.E.D.

8.45 onward: Bhayanak Maut/Peking Duk

The band takes the cake when it comes to ensuring the crowds have a roaring time. For the noise-makers, no other band could be more fitting that BM for the finale. However, giving the band some tough competition will be Aussie electronica stars Peking Duk. Since the two acts will be playing the same sets, we suggest you start your final hop with BM and finish it with Peking Duk.

7.20 onward: Shaa’ir + Func

Trust these guys to take the energy to the highest level possible.

The pop-rock band will entertain you with their catchy tunes, hummable riffs and upbeat groove, all packed in a beautiful rock-y wrapper. A perfect kick-start.

Riding on the success of their numerous gigs, both Su Real and Algorythm have consolidated their reputation in the Indian electronica scene. The two B2B sets by these two outfits will be your mid-evening snack before you progress to the madness.

5.45 – 6.15: Skrat

The Chennai rockers have already proved their mettle as the no-nonsense band that believes in playing hard and tight. Their set is one of the most anticipated ones that evening.

6.20 – 7.15: Pentagram (Unplugged)

One of India’s most loved band will play an acoustic set. What joy!

7.20 – 7.40: Indus Creed

The veteran rockers will give Β both old-timers as well as young rock fans no reason to complain with their tight act.

8.20 onward: Mutemath

This will be your time to just surrender to the infectiously nirvanic vibe.
