What a coincidence! Metallica and Skrillex have a connection!Β
And guess what brought them together? It was none other than S&M! Skrillex may be one of the biggest EDM music icons of today, but only true fans know that before the young producer became the EDM star he is now, he was the front manΒ of a post-hardcore band! Thanks to this band, known as ‘From First to Last’, the star’s metal roots go way back into his younger years.
In the latest episode of hit show ‘Marc Maron’s WTF podcast’, we learned even more fascinating news about the artist. James Hetfield – frontman of Metallica, a band known for being immortal Kings of heavy metal; revealed some surprising news about the electronic producer. Turns out, Β Skrillex is visible on Metallica’s S&M- an album they recorded way back in 1999 in San Francisco. The title of the album, which was accompanied by a symphony orchestra, stands for “symphony and Metallica”. Yes, we know which S&M you guys were thinking of.
Back then, the star was just an 11-year-old kid who went by the name Sonny Moore. Hetfield revealed in an interview, βThe artist Skrillex, who is somewhat popular, he was in the audience. Heβs in the video!β
However, chances are you probably won’t recognize him. βHeβs got blonde hair [in the video], and heβs the kid thatβs trying to stage dive at the symphony!β
Cut to around 14 years later, that same little boy found himself performing with Metallica at their second and final Orian Festival in 2013.Β Guess anything really is possible!
