The Smirnoff Experience Music Festival is almost here, and everyone’s waiting to see Afrojack perform. But opening for him are a bunch of other talented artists – Wiwek, Gregor Salto, Apster, Oliver Rosa and MC Ambush! Here’s all you need to know about them.
1. Wiwek
This up and coming jungle house DJ from Holland has been gaining quite a bit of popularity lately. His EP ‘Jungle Wars’ wasΒ charted on Diplo, Fatboy Slims & Tocadiscoβs beatport chart. In the beginning of 2012, he started his own record label with Gregor Salto, andΒ theirΒ first release got airplay on radioshows from Laidback Luke & Tiesto and received further support worldwide.
2. Gregor Salto
This Dutch DJ and producer is known for having a unique sound to his music – house with a tropical twist.Β The Dutchman won a Latin Grammy for his production for Pitbull’s “Echa Pa’lla” and scored majorally with his remix of Rihanna’s “Diamonds in the Sky”. He has a number of productions and remixes under his belt, and is primarily known for the originality of his sound.
3. Apster
This artist’s music ranges from progressive house to filthy electro, and he can actually be seen as one of Afrojack’s protegees. He was signed onto Afrojack’s label as soon as the latter heard the track Bubble Gutz. Apster has collaborated with and remixed a number of international A-list artists likeΒ Hardwell, Pitbull, Afrojack, Bingo Players and Jennifer Lopez.
4. Oliver Rosa
This young and talented music producer is quickly climbing up the ladder. Starting off with the piano, guitar and drums, he moved to electronic music production, and now makes some really great progrssive and electro-house music. He’s also brilliant live, with an energetic style and the ability to work a crowd.
5. MC Ambush
Vocalist and entertainer MC Ambush is also part of the lineup for the Smirnoff Experience. He became famous when he toured alongside Chuckie throughout Europe, who then introduced him to popular live bands in Holland, with whom Ambush toured the world. With an incredible talent for freestyling, Ambush is an unpredictable, entertaining MC.
