The popΒ star died of a heart failure at 53 and his body was discovered by his partner Fadi Fawaz, 43, in bed at home. He told his followers, “It’s a Xmas IΒ will never forget; finding your partner dead peacefully in bed first thing in the morning.. I will never stop missing you xx.”

He has passed away but the world remembers his contribution and his music has experienced a sudden surge in popularity.
Even aΒ song that was never heard before, written and recorded by George Michael before his death, was shared by Fadi Fawaz. “This Kind Of Love” was recorded in the 1990s, but the track never made it to the spotlight, untilΒ now.
George’s family have also spoken out and thanked fans for the over-brimming love they have been receiving. “For someone whose life was ultimately about his music and the love he had for his family and friends, his fans and the world at large, there could be no more fitting tribute than the many, many, kind words that have been said and the numerous plays his records have received,” a family statement said.

Just 24 hours afterΒ his passing away was announced, his discography had already spread across social media and recorded a jump of 3,158 percentΒ globally, according to Spotify. Top streamed songs from Michael and Wham! include βFaithβ, βFreedom! ’90β and βWake Me up Before You Go-Go.βΒ
George Michael and Wham!’s music is also performing well on iTunes. AsΒ IdolatorΒ said,Β at least 10 well-known songs from the singer-songwriter leaptΒ into the top 100 on the digital music storefront. Tracks like βFather Figureβ, βI Want Your Sexβ, βDonβt Let The Sun Go Down On Me” and βEverything She Wantsβ have also been performing fairly well, as have a number of George Michael’s albums!
When the charts restart onΒ Monday, we will probably see his name in the Billboard’s streaming charts and even in the Hot 100.
