Paddy Fields is back for its second edition and this time it is celebrating women storytellers and musicians through their folk and fusion music festival.

In a first within music events organised in the country, Paddy Fields 2017, is recognising women in their artistic limelight by staging their second edition comprising of only women! 8 renowned musicians from different parts of India, come together to celebrate and perform folk and fusion music. Now in its second edition, Paddy Fields 2017 will take place at India’s largest exhibition center Nesco on October 7th and 8th.

TheΒ female artists headlining the festival areΒ Shubha Mudgal, Kalpana Patowary, Sona Mohapatra, Nooran Sisters, Susheela Raman, Tipriti Kharbangar, Sonam Kalra, and Sunita Bhuyan.Β In addition to bringing folk and fusion music to the forefront, Paddy Fields will feature specially curated songs including
Khasi Blues, Bhojpuri, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Meghalaya, Assam and Delhi.

Shubha Mudgal, the renowned singer and composer who is one among the performing female artists said, β€œThis event is a great platform for the known star singers in metro cities and folk singers to perform on the same platform. We have very talented folk singers in remote areas of the country and listening to them is a treat. I am happy that such an event is being initiated by Nesco in Mumbai.”
