Even after weeks from its release, Drake’s CLB is still dominating the charts. The project was just recently dethroned by Young Thug’s Punk, which sits on number 1 right now. When the album was initially released, there were a lot of comparisons with Kanye West’s DONDA as both the rappers went head to head once again.

As Kanye West’s project was considered more on the experimental side and something new, Drake’s album was made out to be a boring formula-based album. But this is far from the truth, Drake has crafted a great project in CLB, and it will be remembered in his discography.

It’s not fair to compare Kanye and Drake, both have very different fan bases at the moment. Kanye can’t compete with Drake in terms of sales and relevancy. Drake can create great songs anytime, it’s second nature to him. And his project, CLB, has some absolute bangers and some deep lyrical songs as well, a balance if you will.

Many were hating on him for not switching up his style, but why would he change something that’s doing wonders for him. After all, Drake is the one who crafted his sound, he didn’t copy it right. It’s really easy to hate on him because he’s so big at the moment. But when you keep your prejudices aside, you’ll understand how good CLB is!
