It’s not just a festival. It’s an experience.

Day for Night continues to redefine the festival experience while inspiring attendees to question the way they interact with and perceive art and music.

β€œβ€‹We are working to further intertwine the art and music elements into one cohesive experience,” said Omar Afra, executive producer and co-founder of Day for Night. β€œPlenty of awe inspiring surprises on site. Houston has a long standing legacy of technology, art and culture, and we see Day for Night as part of that story in the future.”

The third edition of the festival is set to take place on December 15th, all through the 17th in Houston, Texas. We’d like to give you 5 reasons that will compel you to put this unique festival on your radar.

1. Finely curated lineup

Day for Night’s 2017 roster is nothing short of enviable. Headliners include Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Grammy award winning R&B artist Solange, industrial rock legends Nine Inch Nails, and Tyler, The Creator. It also features DJ sets from the likes of Nina Kraviz, Rezz, and DJ Tennis. With an exemplary lineup and multiple stages, attendees will have a perplexing time figuring out which artists they want to see.

2. Political Activism

Festival goers will have the opportunity to attend a summit on the intersections of art and activism, led by Chelsea Manning, Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot, Laurie Anderson and Lauren McCarthy. The panel will conclude with a separate special performance from Saint Heron featuring Solange, as well as Earl Sweatshirt and Kaytranada.

3. Immersive Art Installations

The β€œLight” section of the lineup features internationally recognized visual artists such as Ryoichi Kurokawa, James Clar, and, Hovver. The festival’s roster also includes immersive technology studios like ‘The Mill’ and ‘Cocolab’ from Mexico City. With large scale projections and site-specific custom-built structures, the festival merges art and sound to create a landscape that enriches the musical lineup.

4. Day for Night’s reputation precedes itself

Although the first edition of the festival was not too long ago, the forward-thinking festival has earned a reputation for being a gathering that fuses cutting-edge technology with an eclectic music lineup and art. The past editions of the festival have been extremely successful and they have booked amazing acts like BjΓΆrk, Flying Lotus, and Aphex Twin.
