1. Florence + The Machine

It may seemΒ that lead singer Florence Welch’s unique baritone would be enough to set the band apart by a yard, but their incredibly individual sound sure has a role to play in it. Their work around their indiepop cum rock style makes for some innovative music. And last heard, they’re a riot to listen to live.

2. Β Caribou

Caribou has been around for a while now, so if you haven’t lapped on to its neo-psychedelic style, it’s time you do as soon as possible. One of producer Dan Smith’s several projects, Caribou stands out for its sheer unique sound. He manages to produce never-before-heard music within the frameworks of pop, per se, in what is a unique amalgamation.

3. Jamie XX

Jamie XX is not just the producer and handler of all things electronic and percussion based of the indietronica British group The XX, his solo career in the trip-hop genre is extremely well nuanced. Especially with the release of his new album In Colour after a break of four year, his live performance will only conform with his music’s indiepop framework.

4. Rudimental

Rudimental is responsible for some of the fresh drum and bass sounds in the scene, and they’ve gained notoriety for being one of the more badass stage acts! Their single ‘Feel The Love’ was enough to put them on the map, and since then, their music has been seamlessly meandering between bass, funk and soul. Their DJ set at Bestival would make all the right noises!

5. Omar Souleyman

A Syrian musician, Omar Souleyman has quickly raked in the acclaim for one major reason – his ability to fuse folk music with a modern, contemporary backforce. His music hails from the community he belongs to, as it bleeds with a raw, rustic flavour. A former part-time wedding singer, he’s now taking up the biggest festival stages around the world, for good reason.

6. Flume

He may be 23, but this young Australian producer has his experimental electronica game on fleek. His premier studio album, the self titled Flume, got immensely popular for its trip hop sound. But it was his EP Lockjaw,a collaboration with another favourite Chet Faker that got him strongly noticed for its flowy , sensual quality.

7. Daphni

Dan Snaith is Caribou is Daphni. One of the several alter egos of eclectically genius producer Dan Snaith, Daphni is quite uniquely different from Caribou, making the brilliance of Dan Snaith that much more prevalent. Β When he’s not being Caribou and delving into some neo psychedelic stuff, Dan Snaith is producing groovier sounds as Daphni!

8. Tei Shi

This Brooklyn producer and songstress is probably one of the most innovative names around, for her ability to fuse R&B, indiepop and shoegaze. For electronic music lovers, she will easily be one of the freshest discoveries of the year with his seemingly seasoned style and unique sound.
