In a proud moment for the entire DJing community, Anna Lunoe paved the way for her women counterparts by performing the first-ever solo DJ set by a female on the main stage at EDC Las Vegas 2016.

The Australian DJ has been in the industry for ten long years, and her EDC set is definitive proof that hard work does pay off. In two emotional Facebook posts, she described just how big a moment it was, both for her and her fans and followers.

AnnaΒ isn’t the first female to adorn the main stage though; Krewella was the first female act to get on EDC’s main stage in 2014, albeit as a duo.

Known for her infectious take on EDMΒ that she calls Hyperhouse, Anna Lunoe’s productions are twisted, hard and mental, and her sets are even more so. Here’s a clip of Anna playing her own track at EDC, Bass Drum Dealer.

Apart from DJing and producing, Lunoe also has a slot on OWSLA Radio on the popular Beats 1 network, where she runs her own show, often bringing some of OWSLA’s best producers on board.

Kudos go to Anna Lunoe for encouraging her female counterparts and the entire industry as a whole. ThereΒ are only good things coming Anna Lunoe’s way, and you shouldn’t be surprised if she takes over some more main stages in the future.
