Every year at the Parkes Elvis Festival, fans celebrate the legend and music of Elvis Presley in Parkes, a town in New South Wales, Australia.

Everybody adores the King of Rock and Roll but some more than others. In an annual celebration, the small town of Parkes with a population of only 12,000, celebrates all things Elvis with a 5 day extravaganza. The influx of visitors from January 6 -10 will roughly double the population for that brief period.

Started in 1993 as a one night performance it now features an array of events involving costumes, singing, dancing, art, food, parades, busking, markets and even an Elvis themed train! This year also marks the first-ever Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. For lovers of the bygone Rock N’ Roll era, this is the place to be.

Elvis was one of the most celebrated and influential musicians of the 20th century. He was commercially successful in several genres, including Rock N’ Roll, Pop, Blues and Gospel. With estimated sales of around 600 million records worldwide, he is the best-selling solo artist in the history of recorded music. Presley won 3 Grammys and also the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at age 36, and has been inducted into multiple music halls of fame.
