Set in East London, Lovebox has become the unofficial yet ideal example of a successful urban festival. With great people, fancy outfits & a massive LINE up is all it takes and this time we’re giving you the low-down on the acts you CANNOT miss.

1. Chase & Status
Chase&STATUS

We know, this is a bit predictable but you cannot deny the sheer impact the UK trio have had on dance and bass music in the UK & around the world. The Sherp managed to catch a DJ set of them in India last year, which it in itself was pretty damn good. Chase and Status LIVE would just be explosive. Sidenote : Their newest album Brand New Machine features some classic hip hop, d’n’b, dubstep & jungle – aka the perfect festival set.

2. M.I.A
Fun Fun Fun Festival - Day 2

Adding the multi talented British-Tamil recording artist to their line up was a smart move, no doubt. MIA’s music is fun, experimental and undeniably catchy, her lyrics politically driven and unapologetic – she isn’t too shabby as a performer either.

3. BANKS
BANKS

We’d term BANKS as the breakthrough artist of the year, no doubt. The LA born and bred songstress and writer has been making waves and turning heads with her version of dark, haunting yet beautiful r’n’b influenced ballads. It’ll definitely be interesting to see her perform.

4. Bonobo (LIVE)
Bonobo

Bonobo (in true Bonobo fashion) has been tearing it up with his sets at festivals like SONAR, this scene. His music is known to actually bring the vibe to the festival, something many a attendee has called β€˜Legendary’ or e β€˜tear-jerking’ or even β€˜powerful’. His live sets (along with his band) are said to mesmerize whoever comes in within a 5km radius of it – the perfect marriage of bass, electronica and melodic arrangements.

5. Moderat (LIVE)
moderat

For those of you who don’t already know Modeselektor (Gernot BronsertΒ and Sebastian Szary) are the pioneers of German IDM while Apparat (Sascha Ring) is a mighty talented singer, known for his gorgeous and low-key melodies. The two parts came together to collaborate back in 2002 and even released a critically acclaimed album in 2009.

“The combination of Modeselektor’s thundering bass and Apparat’s sensitive andΒ subtle melodies makes a completely unique sound.Β Original and intriguing, the live collaboration between these electronic legends is not one to be missed.” – Lovebox
