With Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, Roger Waters and The Who on the lineup,Β are we really surprised?

Desert Trip, one of the most anticipated festivals of the year reportedly sold out their tickets within 3 hours of going up on sale. With a to-die-for lineup that includes Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, Roger Waters and The Who, this was surely expected.

A total of 70,000 tickets per weekend were sold out, bringing the total up to an astonishing 140,000 tickets sold out in, we repeat, 3 hours flat. Though no official confirmation has been sounded by the organizers, sources confirm that organizers are more than satisfied with the response. And they should be as the estimated revenue generated is said to be a neatΒ $150 million. This figure completely overshadows the meekΒ $84.26 million that Coachella is said to have made this year. What’s more, each band is expected to make an equally sweet $4-6 million as well.
