Why: Apart from making music that puts most of their fans minds at ease, Above & Beyond are basically the healers of the Dance world. Their lyrics induce hope and faith and most of all remind people to love. If you’re a novice to their music, The Sherp suggests you simply YouTube “Group Therapy”. That album is all the proof you need, really.
2. Ferry Corsten
Superpower: Shapeshifter
Why: Trance and Electro house daddy, Ferry Corsten has been a stalwart in the industry for almost 15 years. He has the power to shape shift, simply because (over the years) he has reinvented himself around 30 times. Yes, Ferry Corsten has around 30 aliases!
3. Benny Benassi
Superpower: The Ironman
Why: Question is, why not? Putting aside the fact that he looks a bit like Robert Downey Jr Milan born Italian DJ/producer Benny Benassi is widely regarded as one of the most charming and internationally respected artists in the music industry. (Like Tony Stark in the Ironman suit) Benassi can do just about anything in the EDM space “A decade into his illustrious career the man and his charismatic performance flair has managed to capture the hearts of multiple generations of EDM fans across the world with his flawless trademark tech/electro/house infused sounds.” Respected, charmer, charismatic performance flair – all very Tony Stark eh?

Superpower: The Polymath
Why: For the lack of a better term, American trance artist BT’ is a certified Polymath. Apart from being a Grammy-nominated music producer he is also a composer, audio technician, multi-instrumentalist, singer AND songwriter. Phew! How do you do it, man?
5. Pearl
Superpower: Wonder Woman
Why: As one of the most popular and proficient female DJ’s and producers in India, DJ Pearl can be easily be called The Wonder Woman of Dance music in the subcontinent. Simply because, she exudes all the qualities DC’s Wonder Woman possesses including fighting for justice and sexual equality (in the music industry). Particularly after she started a new clubbing property called ‘Steel’ dedicated at bringing India’s best female DJ talent together.
6. Julian Jordan
Superpower: Being a Young Wizard
Why: This is pretty self explanatory. He is barely 18 years old but has already become one of the biggest upcoming artists of EDM.
7. Book Shade
Superpower : To Hypnotize
Why: This German Duo who transitioned from Synth pop to minimal techno, are often called the “Veterans of the Frankfurt electronic music scene.” Their live sets are often ‘hypnotic’ because of the repetitive sound their minimal music holds and the visuals that helps transform the intensity of the album into a cinematic experience. Question is are you ready to be hypnotized?

Superpower: Possesses The Golden Hand
Why: Because Armin Van Burren a.k.a the god of trance once said , “Everything he [Protoculture] touches turns to musical gold”. We couldn’t agree more.
9. MIDIval Punditz
Superpower: Magnetizers
Why : Comprising two delhi based musicians, Gaurav Raina and Tapan Raj, MIDIval Punditz are a fusion group whose style revolves around electronica, jungle and North Indian classical music. Most of their music features Indian instruments along with a synthesizer and drum machine. Through this interesting combination of instruments they produce some graceful melodies and infectious rhythms that are nothing short of magnetic.
10. Albin Myers
Superpower: The Destroyer
Why: So much bass. So much high– intensity percussion. So much destruction. And a badass Mohawk to top it all off. Yeah, anarchy!
