This weekend, on the 21st and 22nd January 2017, an ethereal journey with Nariyal Paani awaits you and nothing will be better than spending the next two days leading up to the festival by listening to the playlist curated by the team! Featured in the playlist are handpicked songs from the headliners who will be playing at Nariyal Paani!
To get you in the zone, the special feel-good playlist is all set to transport you to the location and comfort you with music!
The playlist opens with the bouncy and happy ‘Lights and tunnels’ sung by the talented music producer Neel Adhikari, frontman for the band Neel and The Lightbulbs. The next number invites you to croon to the sultry vocals of Kimochi Youkai (curated by True School of Music) as she sings a cover of ‘No Diggity’ by Chet Faker. The next song is a happy, bubbly medley of songs by the acoustic world folk jam band from Kolkata – ‘Fiddler’s Green’. Tune in to the soft, soothing voice of Gowri Jayakumar singing ‘Cackle’ from her album Sad Little Shoebox.
Up next is ‘Newbury Street’ from none other than Parekh & Singh, the pop duo from Kolkata – Nischay Parekh and Jivraj Singh. Send your mind on a trip with Suman Sridhar & The Black Mamba singing ‘This Be The Beat’. Next, Mabassa blends Brazilian and African pop music brilliantly for ‘Tira Essa Marra’, also featuring Lilian Vieira. Bellatrix’s track ‘Still Lookin For’ will make sure you get back on your feet and bring forth your best moves. ‘Jhoom’ by Ankur Tewari will leave you ecstatic with it’s croon-worthy Hindi lyrics. Following him is Indian rock legend Sidd Coutto with ‘Kimaya s14’. The chirpy beats of ‘Pasteur Martin Luther King’ by Ti Rat & Kaloo Bang make it easily one of the best songs on this playlist along with ‘XXL’ by Donn Bhat and his music project Donn Bhat + Passenger Revelator. Zoya Music’s ‘Keep My Body Moving’ will make you fall in love with her husky vocals. The list ends with the infectious beats of ‘Underground’ by Ranjit Arapurakal, which sounds like a track right out of a movie’s OST.
