Have You Heard About This EDM-Themed Bar?

The brainchild of 22-year-old Joey Tran, this to-be-opened bar at Richmond district is making jaws drop!

You know how sometimes you think you can be a pilot, or possibly open a bookstore or, in this case, a tea bar named Gosu? Well, someone like us is on the way to actually putting his ideas and passion into action. He’s opening, not just any bubble tea bar called Gosu, but one where you would always want to be at because of it’s rave-worthy EDM beats!

EDM lover Joey Tran says Gosu will entertain customers with Asian-American Snacks and Dessert Fusion Specialities, a gaming and relaxation area for Super Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers apart from the LEDs coordinating with the TVs playing EDM music everywhere. Gosu is a Korean term used to refer to a highly-skilled person, and this whole idea sure makes Joey sound like one. He plans on hosting DJs who are “trying to make it”, and it is expected to open early January. It will be open from Sunday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m.

In a notice on the front door of the site under construction in San Francisco, Joey Tran says he was inspired by the PLUR mantra (peace, love, unity, respect, but you already knew that). “It’s not about drugs or anything like that,” he says in an interview with Eater. He added, “You know how you go into a bar and see people fighting sometimes because they’re drunk. But you don’t see that at a rave because we believe in the concept of PLUR. That’s why I incorporated that.”

With drinks priced around $5.50 and Snacks between $7 to $8, Gosu will initially focus on boba tea i.e Bubble Tea, which has recently been trending and Asian snacks, both of which he crafted on his own. As a person prone to change his own mind like all of us, Joey is conscious of the ever-changing trends and that is why the theme and snacks will always keep changing with the newest trends.
