DAVID BOWIE LIVE IN CONCERT IN 1970

“While the nation and the world mourns an alien who had to return to his star, we need to celebrate his life and music which will inspire us forever.”

David Bowie fans unite on the Twitterverse to make Glastonbury tribute a reality!

The world is still reeling under the loss of the legendary musician David Bowie. With fans and celebrities taking to the internet to tweet pictures, quotes and their thoughts about their artist, one fan has taken it a step further. An unnamed individual has launched a Twitter campaign under the handle @BowieGlasto2016 to rouse fans to participate in a mass sing-along of David Bowie’s hits at the Pyramid Stage on the Wednesday evening of Glastonbury.

“I started this to deal with the loss of someone who I’ve loved since a teenager even if I never met him,” the anonymous fan told Radio X. “While the nation and the world mourns an alien who had to return to his star, we need to celebrate his life and music which will inspire us forever. ” “This is just an idea I had in order to pay respect to my hero who rescued my teenage soul. #GlastonBowie”.

While this is definitely something fans will get behind, the idea of a possible tribute album by Kanye West was completely shunned by over 14,000 fans in an online petition. The tributes don’t stop there as SXSW festival co-founder, Roland Swenson went as far as to physically change a street sign from Bowie St. to David Bowie St. (Read Full Article HERE). In recent news, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio will be declaring January 20 as David Bowie Day tonight to honour his memory. This goes to show how much David Bowie was loved and respected by his fans all around the world.
