A Festival That Can Satiate All Your Bacon Cravings

The PA Bacon festival that is taking place over the weekend in Pennsylvania will be every Pork lover’s paradise

Only about two years old and started by a non-profit in a tiny Pennsylvania town, the PA Bacon Fest is one of the most impressive themed food festivals we have come across. In it’s inaugural year of 2012 the festival attracted over 9000 people to try out bacon wrapped treats like bacon jam, bacon-stuffed pretzels and even bacon cupcakes!

The festival takes place at the Easton Farmer’s Market, the oldest open air market in the United States, where you will be able to try out and buy tonnes of other goodies like cheeses, meat, breads and other organic farmed or reared food.

As for some light bacon wrapped/dipped delights, you can try 14 varieties of bacon with sides like chocolate and cheese. The Bacon cinnamon roll is quite the favourite.

The PA Bacon Fest’s main aim is connect and promote local farmers to the demand for Bacon and other organically produced food. All the bacon bought and sold are pasture-raised and sources from local independent farms.

There are tonnes of Bacon-related activities you can take part in as well like the ‘Hog Heaven Cupcake contest’, The Bacon Battle – a chefs duel of their bacon inspired food creations.

Dog races, Pig races and porcine painting competitions are a big part of this shindig.

Just like any other small town American food fest, costumes and costume parades are encouraged.
