HARD Summer hasn’t had a very easy run this year. But this official recap does exactly what it’s supposed to, and focuses on the best moments.
HARD released this recap in the days leading up to its Day of the Dead festival, and it definitely got people excited for the upcoming event. The festival has faced its fair share of problems this year, the largest of them being the death of two young girls at HARD Summer due to a drug overdose. The aftermovie shifts the focus to the best bits of the festival, and does a pretty good job of it.
“Rogue reporter” Joshua Hoover and his tired and exasperated cameraman make their way through the festival in the film, interviewing Zeds Dead, Dillon Francis, Anna Lunoe, Nina Las Vegas and even Chumbawamba. There’s also some amazing footage of Boys Noize, Skrillex, Jauz and others on stage. Hoover being a huge Belieber is a running joke in the film, until Justin Bieber makes a surprise appearance during Jack Ü’s set.
