Two Youngsters Die Of Suspected Drug Overdose In Goa Beach Rave!

Tragedy strikes Goa yet again.

With all the controversy over the drug culture in Goa, things just got worse.  Two youngsters died at different rave parties in North Goa. These incidents took place at the popular beach destination of Anjuna due to drug overdose, according to the police.

Goa water resources minister Vinod Palienkar said that there will be a thorough investigation into the deaths of Pravin Surendran from Tamil Nadu and Nidam Abdulla from Kerala, who passed away in private hospitals in Anjuna, 20 kms away. In a statement issued from St. Petersburg in Russia, the minister said he spoke to north Goa district Superintendent of Police regarding a ban on all rave parties and other nightlife events.

“Drug proliferation increases with outdoor music (parties). I had written to the Chief Secretary and other officials to take strict action,” said Palienkar, who is the local MLA. A post-morthem will determine the true cause of death. However, SP (north Goa) Chandan Choudhury has not ruled out drug overdose as a cause.
