Two Dead After Shooting Outside Meek Mill’s Concert in Connecticut

Four men were shot outside Oakdale Theatre where fans were attending Meek Mill’s rap concert in Connecticut on 30th December 2016.

The gunfire took place in a parking lot near the venue and claimed two lives whereas the other two suffered injuries. “The two males who survived the shooting have non-life threatening injures and were transported to Hartford Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospital, Wallingford,” reports ABC News.

According to certain reports, Police have identified the victims from New Haven and the family of one of the men killed in the shooting has identified him as Travis Ward. Police in the town of Wallingford said the concert appeared to be winding down when shots were fired. Police have not connected the shooting with Robert Williams, better known as Meek Mill.

A video from the time of the incident, approximately 11:12 p.m., shows the rapper exiting the venue just when gunshots were heard. The incident, for now, is seen as a hit-and-run shooting and is being investigated further.

We hope this New Year, we as humans, spread kindness and not violence.
