Three People Shot At A Music Festival In Johannesburg

Yet another case of violent behavior was reported at a festival in South Africa

Security at the Deep In The Woods Music Festival in Johannesburg will need some serious beefing up next time around, considering the latest shooting incident that occurred at the event.

A 9mm firearm was recovered at the scene and it’s understood two people were involved in argument at the Deep In The Woods Music Festival in Meyers Farm yesterday when one of them took out gun and fired several shots.

Authorities say the suspect was then also shot and wounded allegedly by a police reservist who was responding to the crime scene.

A bystander was also caught in the crossfire at the festival. Having just arrived at the festival held at Meyers Farm on south of Johannesburg, Ariella Cameron and friend Michael Speight were standing at the bar when, according to a online post written yesterday by Cameron’s father Mark, she felt as though hot coffee had been thrown over her left shoulder.

The festival was held from 4-5 October at the Meyers Farm in Johannesburg and featured house music artistes Alex Kenji, Nora En Pure, Josh Butler and many other talented performers.

The festival issued a statement on their Facebook page, thanking their fans and also promising to release a complete statement on the unfortunate incident that enveloped this beautiful gathering.
