This Festival At A “Nomadic Hotel” In Texas Is Every Urban Wanderer’s Dream Come True

No opulent stages, deafening music or people in outlandish headgears. The Trans-Pecos Festival, which starts today, believes in offering visitors a rather wholesome, other-worldly experience

For most people, music festivals are synonymous with larger-than-life stages, booze-induced antics and the run-of-the-mill EDM. But a unique hotel in Texas, USA — which provides “nomadic” accommodation to visitors in trailers, tents, yurts and tepees — has pioneered a alternative music festival for people that look for a different kind of experience. The Trans-Pecos Festival of Music + Love, to be held from September 25-28, is not just about music. There are a million things to indulge in, if you’re up for it.

Here’s all you can look forward to:

1. The stay

You can choose from staying in a vintage truck or a homespun tent. And with beautiful landscape for company, rest assured your experience will be one unforgettable one

2. The workshops

At Trans-Pesco, you can learn some of the most awesome things under the sun. Such as:

a) Sausage-making

b) Chain-stitching

c) Ukelele lessons

d) Yoga sessions

3. The bespoke fashion products, art and craft, and more

If you have an idiosyncratic taste in clothes, accessories or art, this is the place to be. This year’s edition will have stalls as varied and interesting as:

a) Hand-tailored jeans by Nashville’s Imogene + Willie

b) Bespoke leather good by the Austin-based Stowe-Provisions

4. The music, of course

The festival line-up is mesmerising to say the least.  Performers include:

Heartless Bastards
The Ohio-based alt-rock outfit has just the right kind of songs to go with the laid-back vibe of the festival

Deer Tick
Part-road-trip-music, part post-midnight companion, Deer Tick’s songs will grow on you like, well, a tick!
