From acquiring a law degree to becoming the world’s record-breaking DJ, Armin has set a standard that is unparalleled in the world of music. The Sherp has put together some interesting highlights from the ‘intense’ life this superstar leads…
Born in 1976 in Netherlands… on Christmas! Well, now it all makes sense!
Taken during his earlier career: Armin was in law school when he began working as a DJ. And as his musical career began to take off, he put his law degree on hold. At that time, Armin didn’t have the slightest idea of the behemoth success that lay ahead of him, so he got back to law school and completed his graduation.
The rest was history… With A State of Trance, Armada, Armind, Armin Only tours, and albums like Imagine and Mirage, the name ‘Armin van Buuren’ became a global brand!
On September 18, 2009, Armin tied the knot with Erika van Thiel.
…but that did not put an end to the female adulation he received!

In July 2011, Erika gave birth to an adorable baby girl – Fenna van Buuren.
And at Tomorrowland 2013, Armin announced the birth of his second child – a healthy baby boy – Remy! A teary-eyed Armin dedicated his set at Tomorrowland to his son.
On April 30, 2013 Armin played to a live audience celebrating the King’s crowning in Amsterdam. The king, queen and their three daughters decided pay an unexpected visit to Armin on stage!

As of now, the relentless Dutch Armada is showing no signs of slowing down. With his ongoing Armin Only tour and the upcoming A State of Trance 650 milestone, fans are quite certain he is going to bag the #1 spot again on DJ Mag in 2014!
