The 10 Best Coachella Performances, Of All Time!

Coachella is just around the corner, so The Sherp revisits some brilliant performances from the festival’s history.

Coachella always happens to be the most awaited festival every year. With the sheer size of its lineup and the acts that feature on it, Coachella is right up there on the list of some of the biggest festivals in the world.

What do you get when you have star acts on your lineup? Iconic moments! Acts always bring out their best at the massive festival, and the Sherp has 10 such moments that truly defined the festival, and the music scene as a whole!

1. Daft Punk, 2006

Arguably considered as one of the biggest things to happen to electronic music at Coachella, Daft Punk’s set in 2006 gave major FOMO feels to whoever missed it. The LEDs and their tracklist truly defined what was to become of EDM in the USA.

2. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tupac, 2012

Tupac Shakur was reborn as a hologram during the 2012 edition of Coachella, and that shocked the world more than anything else! Performing with Snoop Dogg, Tupac’s hologram was spot on, and it was a true legendary moment.

3. M83, 2012

M83 delivered a riveting performance at Coachella 2012, and the crowd sang along to Midnight City. We assure you; nobody rested during the nu-gaze band’s stellar performance!

4. The Chemical Brothers, 2005

The Chemical Brothers returned to Coachella in 2005, and there was nothing stopping them from absolutely smashing the festival that year. With this set, they did just that!

5. Kanye West, 2011

Kanye’s performance at Coachella 2011 was as artsy as it could get! He might be a dick right now, but you cannot deny the fact that he’s still the musical genius we’ve known all these years. Also, that ‘Hey Mama’ performance for his mother in the end was simply touching. RIP, Donda West. 🙁

6. Amy Winehouse, 2007

Being the only time the troubled singer appeared at Coachella, the late Amy Winehouse shone at the Gobi stage in 2007, and the crowd response was directly proportional!

7. Jay Z & Beyonce, 2010

Putting the fact aside that Jay-Z was the first rapper to headline Coachella in 2010, he delivered, and in a big way. Bringing in Beyonce to perform Forever Young was just icing on the cake!

8. Lana Del Rey, 2014

Lana Del Rey’s Coachella performance really defined her career, and her graph has only gone upwards since! She debuted West Coast during the 2011 edition of the festival, which drove the crowd nuts, just like all her other songs on the list.

9. Madonna, 2006

“It’s too hot to wear clothes!” exclaimed the pop queen just before her stellar live rendition of Everybody. Back when pop was still cool, Madonna slayed 2006 with her performance at the festival!

10. Jack White, 2015

The very popular Jack White delivered a smasher of a set last year, including several of his solos and stuff from White Stripes in the set list!
