1. The key to a good playlist is to begin with a song that sets you on track. For good music, that’s what. So here’s some down-tempo hip-hop from Kid Cudi.

14. But if you’re someone who prefers a fair bit of vocal delicacy in your music, then George Ezra and his old world charm will work on you perfectly.
15. If you have it in you to appreciate George Ezra, then you have it in you to fall hopelessly for Father John Misty‘s retogressive beautiful tunes, armed with his soulful voice.
16. The best way to reel from that hangover is some prescribed effect of the kind of indiepop that only Alt-J is capable of.

19. While we’ve moved on to indie rock, let’s go back in time to the brilliance of Brand New.
20. If we’re going to go back in time we must absolutely appreciate one of rock’s most popular subgenre – the blues with some Gary Clark Jr.
21. And when we talk of blues, you almost obviously talk about contemporary favourites Alabama Shakes.
22. But if you’d rather delve into the mind and go psychedelic instead, you can always trust Tame Impala to deliver.
23. And when we speak of rock, a shout out to original veterans, the ever dependable, Lollapalooza headliners – Metallica.
24. While we’re at it, a huge shout-out to current festival favourites, the golden sounding Florence + The Machine.
25. But the talk of rock music is defunct without a reference to the Beatles-era. So here’s ending this playlist with the greatest musician of our times (sorry, Kanye!), the biggest name in the Lollapalooza lineup – Paul McCartney.
