Rock In Rio’s American Debut Will See Metallica, Linkin Park, John Legend And Taylor Swift

Mark your calendars for May 2015, as the massive Rio De Janeiro festival heads to Las Vegas with a line-up to die for

Next year, the people behind the Rock In Rio festival will bring their franchise to the United States. They have already revealed some of the major acts who will perform at Rock In Rio USA, including Metallica, Linkin Park, Deftones  and many more.

The event is set for May 8-9 and May 15-16 at the MGM Resorts Festival Grounds, where the festival organisers are working with Canadian theatre company Cirque du Soleil to build a permanent open-air ‘City of Rock’ venue with six stages spread out over 37 acres on the Strip. The festival grounds will also include a zipline and three themed ‘Rock Streets’ built around the culture and music of the U.S., the U.K. and Brazil.

No Doubt , Taylor Swift  and John Legend  will also perform at next year’s event, with plenty more names to be revealed in the future. There have been rumours that Bruce Springsteen, who played at Rock In Rio in 2013, will also appear, but there has been no official confirmation as yet. General admission weekend tickets and one-day VIP passes can already be purchased at their website .

Rock In Rio was first launched in 1985. In 2004, they branched out to Lisbon, Portugal, and have also held festivals in Madrid, Spain. An estimated 7.4 million fans have attended Rock In Rio events over the years.
