RIP: Rock Vocalist Singer Chris Cornell Passed Away Unexpectedly

The singer was found dead just hours after he gave a performance.

Chris Cornell, well-known for being a member of Soundgarden and later Audioslave, passed away on Wednesday night.

Associated Press’ Brian Bumbery confirmed the death and called it “sudden and unexpected” which has left Cornell’s family and wife in a state of shock as he was only 52 years old. The family is currently working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause and asked for privacy.

The singer found fame with the Soundgarden which was formed at the same time as Pearl Jam and Nirvana. He later founded Audioslave and also had a successful solo career which includes creating the theme song, “You Know My Name,” for James Bond film Casino Royale. The band was set to go on tour this year and there were talks about a new album.

We’re sending our condolences to his entire family and friends.
