Priyanka Chopra’s Purple Pebble Pictures Reveals Its Film Roster At Cannes 2017

Indian superstar and Quantico actress, Priyanka Chopra, will see her film company make its debut Cannes appearance this year.

Purple Pebble Pictures, owned by actress Priyanka Chopra and operated by her mother Dr. Madhu Chopra, will pitch Indian regional films at the film festival this year. The films could be picked up at their international pitch by international financiers or even find its way to being screened across other countries.

The Purple Pebble Pictures film roster will be headed by “Little Joe”, a bilingual Hindi-Konkani film about a kid who expresses himself through drawings and cartoons, and searches for a place where he is not treated like a freak.

Following up to that, will be a real life, fact based story on the first romance of Rabindranath Tagore, renowned musician, revolutionary, poet and winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature. “Nalini”, will be shot in Bengali, Marathi and English. The final on the roster will be “Little Visitors” aka “Pahuna” which is to be shot in Sikkimese.

The actress has been interested in film production and has been venturing into expanding her music and acting horizons internationally. She started her company Purple Pebble Pictures along with her mother 2 and a 1/2 years ago. 

“[Priyanka] put up her own money for the first three films, which everybody told her not to. But after we picked up some awards and got validation, more co-financiers emerged. The second year has definitely been easier,” revealed her mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra. The company has made six films to date, including “Ventilator”, which won three National Awards.

Priyanka will be seen in a sizzling beach bum avatar in her upcoming movie, “Baywatch”.
