Security Guard Suspected In Possible Homicide At Backwoods Music Festival

In more bad news for Backwoods Music Festival, Oklahoma, a death under mysterious circumstances is being investigated as a possible homicide.

An investigation was launched into the death of a man on Saturday morning, September 5th. 34-year old Patrick Murphy, who was attending the festival with his 64-year old father, was detained for “erratic behaviour” by Backwoods security, and allegedly stopped breathing. Officials then transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Because of the mysterious circumstances surrounding Murphy’s death, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has decided to consider it as a possible homicide until the autopsy and toxicology reports are out, but security is suspected of having a possible hand. This is not the first incident of a security-related mishap at the Backwoods Festival this year. EDM band FYER cancelled their set when one of the security personnel attacked their tour manager with a knife. The security guard responsible was later fired, and investigations are still ongoing.
