Why You Should Not Miss Rock In Rio’s First American Stint

This weekend, Rock in Rio will be setting up their first gathering in the USA, in Las Vegas. This Brazilian music festival has always managed to garner praise for its brilliant spectacle, and we tell you why you should not miss its premier US show.

Since 1985, Rock in Rio has continued to stand out as one of Brazil’s most talked about music festivals, as it had been gracefully exported to Lisbon and Madrid earlier. Now, entering the United States on its maiden American show, it’s all set to give Las Vegas two weekends of the ultimate musical party. The Sherp lists all the reasons it’s absolutely unmissable!

1. TWO WEEKENDS!

That’s right. Rock in Rio gives you two weekends of music, with the first weekend this week featuring rock artists, and the second following weekend featuring pop artists. The first weekend from May 8 to 9 has artists like Metallica, No Doubt, Maná, Linkin Park and Deftones take stage, while the second pop weekend has Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, Bruno Mars and Sam Smith give eclectic sets. It’s double the fun, with music for everybody!

2. City of Rock

‘Nough said. The purposefully designed private venue, City of Rock is Rock in Rio’s biggest asset. It’s designed suitably keeping the needs of the festival in mind with state of the art visuals, unique lighting system and modern sound carriers and mixers. Its grandness affords it privacy like few other festival venues often can, allowing you to feel cut off from everywhere else.

3. Because, Las Vegas

There is a reason Las Vegas gets it and other don’t. It is the ultimate city to party in, in the whole of USA. And when you have a major league festival bringing the shiniest people from the music industry with it, there’s no other place you wish the festival was held at. So go ahead, make it one heck of a weekend. With music, festival spirit, and lots of exclusive Vegas fun!

4. Fine Dining Options

It’s a festival in Las Vegas, so there can never be too little of anything. With that strong music line-up come other things to keep you occupied. Safe to say, Rock in Rio has got the food bit sorted. With fine dining options for the VIP sectopm, even the insatiable music lover in you will feel compelled to make that one trip to the food counters! (The VIP eating arena is pure class.)

5. Its brilliant history

Rock in Rio’s historical reputation precedes its name. Did you know that Freddie Mercury himself was so impressed by the audience backing him to ‘Love of my life’ that he decided to conduct them in a sound mass? Or that Jared Leto thinks that Rock in Rio is legendary? The number of patrons, well-wishers and fans the festival has garnered over the years is ridiculously high. And this is perhaps why you should get going for the festival. Because, it delivers.
