Celebrate the many facets of cannabis in cinema with this amazing New York festival.

The very first cannabis festival in Brooklyn, the New York City Cannabis Film Festival aims to celebrate marijuana in films and the film community responsibly along with establishing the influence of marijuana on cinema.  The festival wants to break stereotypes and shed some light on the facets of cannabis that aren’t associated with stoner culture.

“We want to celebrate the creativity of the cannabis community and invite those outside the community to learn more about this wonderful plant and people who are inspired by it,” says Michael Zaytsev, one of the organisers, to the New York Daily News. “We want to challenge the stigma of the lazy stoner.”

Launching its very first edition this year, NYCCFF will bring the best of cannabis film media into limelight and give the attendees an opportunity to celebrate the plant through a cinematic lens. We will have more updates about the festival soon, so do keep tabs.
