A Music Festival That Celebrates Peace, This Gandhi Jayanti

If it’s about peace, love, harmony and music, then it’s at The Gandhi Peace Festival 2015 – Harmony Rocks on October 2 2015.

Bringing together an eclectic mix of musicians and singers in a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the Bombay Rock Association celebrates his birthday with The Gandhi Peace Festival 2015 at the Bandra Amphitheatre, 6PM onwards. Shilpa Rao, supported by Neeraj Arya’s Kabir Cafe will be headlining the event.

Shilpa Rao is a Bollywood songstress who has made waves with her voice, and is remembered for iconic film songs like ‘Khuda’Jaane’’ in Bachna Ae Haseeno’ to’‘Yaariyan’’ in ‘Cocktail’, while Neeraj Arya’s Kabir Cafe brings to life the forgotten verses of Kabir, giving them a pop, reggae, rock, folk fusion, or even Carnatic twist. With the two brilliant headliners are Mumbai-based cultural group Swaang, who sing protest songs based on the writings of some legendary progressive poets, Mumbai-based band 7th Aayaam and fusion band Manish J. Tipu’s Neo Gharana. Amazing music, and a celebration of peace – there isn’t a better way to spend Gandhi Jayanti this year.
