Lollapalooza Announces Fourth Edition In Berlin

Following a successful expansion into Chile, Brazil and Argentina, the Lolla army sets it’s gaze on to the European front

As popular music festivals in Europe reach out to the rest of the world to expand their fan base, a popular American festival is going the other direction, as Lollapalooza, the festival founded by Jane’s Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell, has announced that it will be heading out to Berlin next year.

It will be Lolla’s first European edition and will take place at the Tempelhof Airport, September 12-13, 2015. Lollapalooza Berlin will follow in the tradition of Lollapalooza U.S. ,bringing incredible music, food, art and social responsibility to a location in the heart of Berlin.

Details of the inaugural festival in Berlin, including headliners and ticket prices, will be unveiled at a later time. Meanwhile, Jack White and Robert Plant are rumored to be performing at Lollapalooza’s upcoming South American shows, which take place in Santiago, Buenos Aires and São Paulo during March 2015

Lollapalooza has been credited with popularising alternative music in the United Staes. It was a touring festival during its original ’90s incarnation, which lasted until 1997, and was rebooted in 2003. In 2005, Lollapalooza became a weekend festival in Chicago’s Grant Park. The festival made its overseas debut in Chile in 2011, expanding to Brazil in 2012 and this year in Argentina
