Kumbh Will Return To Kashmir Valley After 75 Years

With an expected footfall of 20,000 Kashmiri Pandits, the Dashar Maha Kumbh is set to make a return to Kashmir on 14th June.

Set to return after a long drought of 75 years, the Kumbh Mela will be taking place around the confluence of the sacred rivers- Jhelum, Krishen Ganga and Sindh- in Waskoora tehsil of Gandebal district located in the Kashmir valley.

A.K. Koul, Convenor of Maha Kumbh Celebration Committee (MKCC) said that the committee members have met the Deputy Chief Minister of J&k, Nirmal Singh, and urged him to make suitable arrangements for the pilgrims, which includes construction of temporary bathrooms, makeshift toilets, and shelters for pilgrims, arrangement for security, adequate medical facilities and drinking water. He also mentioned that the Deputy Chief Minister has promised them the support of the State Government for the event.
