In Pictures : Here’s How It Was Celebrating New Year At Chasing Storm Festival

For vagabonds and music lovers alike, Chasing Storm Festival, once again, proved to be the perfect getaway for those seeking an earthy, organic New Year experience.

Chasing Storm, a New Year-themed edition of one of India’s most respected and popular festivals Storm, is one that promises a nature-based getaway on an otherwise clichéd time of the year, the New Year celebrations. Held at the lush green expanse of Mercara Downs amidst the stunning hills of Coorg, this year’s Chasing Storm too packed in the music and celebration in equal spirit. With performances by accomplished acts such as legendary fusion rock band Indian Ocean, nouveau vocalist popular Siddharth Mahadevan, famous tamil folk-fusion group Anthony Daasan in Party, the much funky Sylvester’s Trio, and electronic acts like DJ Swing, DJ Sam and DJ Nasha among others, there was enough music to enjoy.

This combined with the festival’s superior camping options, adventure activities, late night camp bonfires, jam sessions with the artist, and Chasing Storm ended to be a phenomenal start to the new year.

Here’s The Sherp rounding up images that would offer you a glimpse into the madness!

With Chasing Storm being held at the picturesque hill station of Coorg, there’s no deniability of the natural beauty afford by the festival

Chasing Storm welcomed its gates on New Year’s Eve to those wistful travelers who prefer spending the end of the year in the lap of beauty, music and adventure, than in the cityscape.

And true to its word, there was much to be loved at Chasing Storm. Right, from the hills enveloping the festival space –

To the camping which, true to Storm’s reputation, was comfortable and exciting –

To the music, indeed, that managed to give the crowds much exciting a beginning to the year coming in.

From Indian rock geniuses Indian Ocean, whose on stage enthusiasm still makes the audience tizzy!

To vocalist Pratyush Shankar who turned in an impressive set with band Solder

The funky Sylverster’s Trio gave a set that was equal parts groovy and eclectic.

With Anthony Dassan in Party rounding up a session of pure vocal delight!

While DJ Ivan dropped some really cool beats for comfort.

But it was the artist jams that restored faith in Chasing Storm’s intimacy

Here’s Indian Ocean’s Nikhil Rao jamming out with Chasing Stormers

To Pratyush Shankar thinking new tunes –

To Stormers having the time of their life with proppy-props.

All in all, Chasing Storm was every bit the festival most perfect to welcome New Year with.

Here’s to a brilliant start to 2016, thanks to Chasing Storm!
