Have You Heard Of This Lavish Festival Of ‘Hairdressing Art’?

This Ukrainian festival of hairdressing art is the most absurdly beautiful thing you will see today.

We at Festival Sherpa take pride in introducing our readers to the weirdest, strangest and yet, unsung and underrated festivals from the shiftiest crevices of the world. Ergo, we love discovering new festivals, and we love enthusing about them to you. Here’s this week’s fix of quirky for you.

The international festival of hairdressing art, also known as Crystal Angel, is an elaborate celebration of beauty. It takes place in the city of Kiev, Ukraine, and brings together the best hair dressers and artists of the country for the grand event. Models present hairstyles during the festival displaying art, fashion and design.

Apart from hair art and design contests, the festival hosted many body art, nail design and face-art contests. Independent artists can partake in the contest and recieve an opportunity to display their work at one of the most popular art festivals in Ukraine. The festival also features several professional workshops, fashion shows and theatrical shows.

The festival is famous for its flamboyant and intricate hairstyles and designs. These images display the grandeur of the festival in all its glory. The festival has completed twelve successful editions, with the thirteenth one allegedly having taken place earlier this April.  Crystal Angel is organized by the higher educational institution, Kyiv Academy of Hairdressing and the Confederation of CMC-CAT Ukraine.

Guests and participants both have an opportunity to get acquainted with professional product innovations in fields of beauty and fashion, and to increase the professional level in master classes at the festival. Each hairstyle displays the artist’s personal style amalgamated with seasonal fashion trends.

The festival also features a grand “Gala Show” which is dubbed as a “theatrical and magical spectacle of beauty and high fashion,” on the festival’s website. Unique and definitely spectacular, this festival is a curiously brilliant gem.
