Metallica to Headline Glastonbury 2014, Twitter Not Happy

The legendary metal heads to headline the Somerset festival alongside Arcade Fire & Kasabian.

The final additions to the Glastonbury 2014 lineup have been announced, and as expected the annual UK music festival’s complete is as amazing as it is massive. Metallica will be heading the pack, marking not only their Glastonbury debut but also being the first metal band to headline the festival in it’s 44- year history.

Other important acts also include Lana Del Rey, Ed Sheeran,  Lily Allen , Dolly Parton, Rudimental and many more. Skrillex, Jake Bugg and Massive Attack were named as headliners of the Other Stage, while MIA, Bryan Ferry and Disclosure will headline the West Holts Stage.

New headliners of the John Peel Stage are Kaiser Chiefs, joining MGMT and London Grammar.

Also note that Indian pop artists Shaa’ir & Func will also be performing at the festival, be sure to catch them as well.

Metallica’s mention as festival headliner didn’t seem to go down very well with the majority of festival goers, sharing their disappointment at the metal act being named one of the ‘headliners’ of the iconic festival.

The Glastonbury festival is one of the largest and most popular festival in the world, bringing the best live acts from all over the world together on one platform.  It will be held at the Worthy farm, Pilton between 25th – 29th June this year. Tickets for the festival are currently SOLD OUT.
