Tragedy struck the music festival world due to a natural calamity, as a lightning strike claimed the life of New Orleans native Jacqui Stavis, and injured two others in an unprecedented accident at T-Bois Blues Festival.

Lightning struck Jacqui’s tent, and the strike immediately knocked her and her friends out. She was taken to a nearby hospital, but was unfortunately declared dead on Saturday. Jacqui was 28, and her other two friends were 24 and 30 years old respectively. A Labrador who was with them also died because of the lightning strike.

The festival, out of respect, for Jacqui, has refrained from posting much about the festival on social media. The organizers took to the official Facebook page and announced this:
‘The Falgout Family is deeply saddened by the tragic event that occurred this weekend at T-Bois Blues Festival. Every attendee of this small festival is part of the T-Bois family, and we feel as though we lost a family member this weekend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Stavis family and all those who love Jacqui, as well as the others injured and affected by Friday night’s tragedy. But out of respect for all those mourning this loss we will take the next few days to reflect on the weekend and step away from social media. We thank every person who attended this year’s T-Bois Blues Fest in any capacity, and we hope to continue to provide a place for good friends, good food and good music.’
