“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” has been a classic film for angst filled teenagers since the ’80s and is relatable to this day. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of the most iconic movies of its time, the film will be getting its own festival this year. The film originally released on June 11, 1986 and so this year, Chicago will host a 3 day festival dubbed as the Ferris Fest: A 30th Anniversary Leisure Weekend from May 20-22.

The city of Chicago was the center of all of Ferris Bueller and his friends’ antics so it makes sense that organizers chose the city as its host. Ferris Fest has been in the making since a couple of months but just recently gained traction on Instagram. Fans buying tickets to the Ferris Fest will be treated to a screening of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, a recreation of Ferris’ room and a tour of the film’s locations including Cameron’s glass house. Last but not the least, the festival will recreate the film’s memorable parade sequence and feature a Q & A with cast members.
