1. St Jerome’s Laneway festival
When : January 31 to February 7
Where : All over Australia
Laneway Festival 2015 line-up, may just be one of our favourites yet. Expanding over four cities in Australia, Laneway will feature BANKS, Benjamin Booker, Caribou, Connan Mockasin, Future Islands, Jon Hopkins, Lykke Li, Jungle, Little Dragon and SO MUCH MORE!
2. Soundwave Festival
When : February 21 to March 1
Where : All over Australia
Known as Australia’s major hard rock event, Soundwave is an annual music festival held in major cities around Australia. The festival originated in Perth, Western Australia and began travelling to the other Australian capital cities in 2007. It features a number of international and Australian music acts, from various genres including rock, metal and punk. The festival has been headlined by Deftones, The Offspring, Nine Inch Nails, Faith No More, Iron Maiden, System of a Down, Slipknot, Green Day and Metallica in the past.
3. Sónar Reykjavik/Sónar Stockholm
When : February 12 to 14 and February 13 to 14
Where :Reykjavik, Iceland / Stockholm, Sweden
Sónar doesn’t just take place in Barcelona, but has also extended to Sweden and Iceland. The editions in these two countries are only a sliver of what Sonar is, but no less exciting. The lineup is always as diverse as ever and will include the techno industry’s best. You’re guaranteed that!

4. SulaFest
When : February 7 – 8
Where : Nashik, Maharashtra, India
The country’s most gorgeously situated, eagerly awaited Gourmet World Music Festival is back with the line-up of the year. At last year’s sold out festival, over 10,000 fest-goers had a weekend to remember and this year promises a grander production and even more amazing memories. SulaFest partygoers can expect a megamix of great music, wine, drinks, food, fashion and shopping in the idyllic environs of the winery’s beautiful open-air, Greek-style amphitheatre. Also, Young The Giant and Gentleman’s Dub Club will be headlining the wine festival, this year!

5. CTEMF – Cape Town Electronic Music Festival
When : February 3 to 8
Where : Cape Town, South Africa
There been a major rise of dance and electronic music in South Africa in the past year, for wich the CTEMF deserves all the recognition it can get. This fantastic dance music marathon is the epicentre and platform for budding young artistes and some international stars as well, to make the people of Cape Town dance. This year the lineup will be released soon. So watch out for it!
6. Kazantip
When : February 18 to 28
Where : Cambodia
Last year, as some of you may know, Europe’s infamous beach festival could not take place at it’s iconic location in Crimea because the then ongoing political fighting between the Russia and separatists. The party temporarily moved down south, but was met with a conservative and disapproving neighbourhood.
This is not going to stop the promoters of the festival from hosting the festival though, especially with their new game plan. The location for this massive orgy uh, music festival has now been moved to an island infamous for it’s lackadaisical views on inebriated foreigners, namely the Koh Puos Island, in Sihanoukville, Cambodia (owned by a Russian Company). The party festival will be back this month for all the debauchery and frivolity it celebrates. Also Dubfire, Netsky, Seth Troxler among many other artistes will be there to get the party going!
7. Riverboats Festival – Victoria (February)
When : February 13 to 15
Where : Victoria, Australia
The Riverboats Festival, 2015, to be held in the scenic Echuca-Moama, Victoria, will feature Sarah Blasko, Dan Sultan and The Whitlams, among many other artistes. Australia is home to some mean festivals – be it the multi-city Big Day Out, the hardstyle gathering Defqon.1 or the New Year’s Eve music mecca Falls Festival. Alongside these biggies, there are several smaller festivals that appear on the calendar. One such fest, The Riverboats Festival, is held by the bountiful Murray river and in a natural amphitheatre. Its laid-back, easy-going vibe, not to mention inexpensive tickets, has made it a popular destination among people looking to spend a relaxing time at a music festival.
