Are you ready, Sheerios?
The wait is almost over for the Ed Sheeran Divide Album Tour Concert in Mumbai! The superstar lands in the city today, and this being his second visit to the country, he has expressed the desire to explore the city of Mumbai, even flying in two days prior to the date of his performance! We at the Sherp have got our hands on the inside scoop regarding his time here, and it looks like everyone’s favorite pop star is in for a treat!

The UK Pop icon will be traveling on a regular flight rather than a private jet, and will be surprised at the airport with a traditional Indian welcome ceremony- complete with flowers, dancers, and dhols! Sheeran will be accompanied by a massive entourage of 45 people and will be given a fleet of 20 luxury cars for his travel-related purposes. Close to 60 rooms will be booked to accommodate this massive gathering at a South Mumbai hotel.
The concert, which is expected to be an intimate, not overtly packed performance, and will be attended by A-listers the likes of Alia Bhatt, Akash Ambani, and Arjun Tendulkar, amongst others. Ed will also be treated to a lavish 7-course tradition Indian meal- hosted by the Ambani family! The pop-artist, who had met with the Bachchans the last time he was here, will be hosted by industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita.
On his previous visit in 2015, Sheeran reportedly binged on palak paneer and butter naan, being a lover of Indian food himself. The food at the Ambani’s residence will include a buffet, complete with dishes from 12 states, with each dish being carefully curated by the hostess. Many celebrities are expected to attend the concert, being diehard Sheerios themselves. These names include Shah Rukh Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Malaika and Amrita Arora, and Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. Most of the actors are expected to meet with the singer after the event at the Ambani residence.

Despite being a multimillionaire with a list of hits and a history of sold-out concert tours, Ed’s backstage rider covers the most modest of requirements, including a mix of after-school refreshments such as a bottle of Robinson’s fruit squash, fresh passion fruit juice, milk, beer, a six-pack of fizzy drinks, a jar of manuka honey and a plate of assorted, sliced vegetables and fruits. His backstage wardrobe consists of six shirts, two T-shirts, a hoodie and six shoeboxes. According to reports, Ed will be performing in black trainers, black jeans and a black T-shirt on the 19th. This just goes to show the extent of Sheeran’s modesty, and paints him in the colors of not just a low maintenance pop-star, but also one of the nicest guys around! Since Ed is a known cat and bicycle lover, the promoters of the show will be arranging to have his backstage room customized to include animal and automobile graffiti.

Ed Sheeran Live in Mumbai Concert is associated with BookMyShow and PR Worldwide and will be held on November 19, 2017, at Jio Gardens, BKC as part of Ed Sheeran’s Asia Tour in support of his third studio album, ÷ (Divide), which released on 3rd March 2017 through Asylum/Atlantic Records. Sheeran is expected to play some of his biggest hits, including ‘Shape of You’, ‘Galway Girl’, ‘Photograph’, and ‘Thinking Out Loud’.
