DVLM Want To Collaborate With A.R. Rahman

Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike are looking to takeover Bollywood!

The DJ duo from Belgium say they would wish to collaborate with double Oscar-winner AR Rahman if given an opportunity. After performing in India several times and also recently for the EDM festival Sunburn, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike (DVLM) say they would want to strengthen their ties with the Indian homegrown artists.

Being rated the number one DJ duo on the charts by DJ Mag, they aspire to give India more to cherish. When asked whether the brothers would want to collaborate with any Indian artist, Mike, whose real name is Michael Thivaios, told IANS by an email from Mumbai: “Maybe A.R. Rahman. He is cool. Nothing is planned yet but given a chance we would love to. India is so receptive when it comes to collaborations.”

He also added, “It’s great to see so many Indian artists making their way to international festivals with releases on global labels. I think Indian DJs aren’t too far away from their global peers. Their music is as global as any other international DJ.”

After having collaborated with artists like Afrojack, Nervo, Martin Garrix, Diplo, Fatboy Slim, Ne-Yo, Steve Aoki and KSHMR (most of these artists have performed on the Indian soil before), Dimitri doesn’t feel that there is any competition in the field. “Indian audiences are my favourite. It’s always a treat playing for them. It’s incredible how Indians love diversity and are so receptive to new sounds. It’s amazing to be welcomed by such loving fans every year who never give up,” Dimitri said.

Mike also had something to add to the conversation, “From the time we played at smaller clubs to now at bigger festivals we have just seen our Indian family grow and the support has been phenomenal. Music is all about a culture, it’s not an industry. There is no competition as we are all brothers. But yeah, if we thought someone is fit to take on the World No.1 mantle after us, it would be Martin Garrix,” he said.

Talking about their love for Bollywood, Dimitri said, “We have loved Bollywood from the time we were doing smaller shows in India.” Adding to it, Mike said, “Give us a film, we are ready! It’s going to be the DVLM takeover in Bollywood.”

We can see this happening…
