Dippy’s gonna produce an EDM based movie.
Earlier this year, we heard of DJ and producer Diplo’s movie project that was pitched to Fox by the guys who co-wrote it – Adam Weinstock and Andy Jones.
Although, the producers and writers are reluctant to divulge major deets about this feature film, we know this – the film will be like an 8 Mile meets Project X. The supposed plot surrounds three teen-aged protagonists who are trying to “get into Diplo’s Electronic Music Festival”.
There is no title to the movie yet, either.
Jeffrey Katzenberg’s (who is best known for his work and animation for DreamWorks) son David Katzenberg has apparently been assigned the director of this feature – previously speculated as a 20th Century Fox movie.
Feature films ideas based or centered around EDM music are something that has remained untouched. Props to Dippy to push this project forward. That was Mad Decent of him.
Diplo has been a lot in the news lately, especially after his phenomenal album drop. There has also been speculation that he, along with his three-manned dubstep-reggae crew (Major Lazer) will be touring India soon.
