EDM’s most polarizing superstar Deadmau5 almost broke the fourth wall by announcing his own booking fees per show/festival, and you’re not going to believe it!
In a reply to a fan’s tweet that asks the mau5 how much he gets paid to ‘press play on his iPod shuffle’, the mau5 replied promptly with this:
@dudewlf there are several contributing factors, but it ranges to anywhere from $400,000 to $1,000,000 USD

You read that right. $400,000 for a lower limit isn’t small money at all. This also reflects how much DJ fees have gone up since EDM broke into the scene and became mainstream up to a point where almost every teenager in the world dreamt of going to Tomorrowland (and still do).
In Deadmau5′ case, it’s actually pretty alright, given the amount he spends on his own production setup (The Cube 2.0, anyone?)
