Dark And Riveting ‘Titli’ Will Be The Opening Act At DIFF This Year

This harrowing, impossible to forget film will be the perfect beginning to one of the best film festivals in India, and is definitely something to look forward to.

Bringing together some of the best Indian and international cinema, Dharamshala International Film Festival sits in the lap of scenic beauty in Himachal Pradesh.  As a consequence of the hard-work put in by many talented filmmakers from around the world with little to no financial backing, some of the best films are showcased at DIFF, against the backdrop of peaceful, pristine hills.

It should come as no surprise then, that Titli, a film that grabbed the attention of audiences and critics alike from the very get go, will be opening the festival. A gripping tale of a family caught in the noxious, dark underbelly of Delhi, Titli delivers haunting performances by the cast and a path-breaking, gripping storyline, making it the must-see film of the year.

A film that “Kanu Behl’s directorial debut was screened as part of the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes Film Festival 2014 and yet to release in India. The lead actor of the film Ranvir Shorey shall also be there for the opening,”  said festival organiser and filmmaker Ritu Sarin. Drawing the curtains of the festival on November 8 is yet another piece of genius – Masaan, that was greeted with rave reviews by every film critic in the country.
