Fancy a getaway not very far from Mumbai, in the middle of a vast expanse of greens and a mesmerizing spectacle of fireflies? The recently-announced Dang Fireflies Festival is just for you!
The organizers aim to have the festivals just after the first rains, and will stretch for 2 days. The location is set for Dang Forest, a 5-hour drive from Mumbai. The itinerary on Facebook for the first day states the following: “Arrive at Dang, witness the traditional village-life, experience the unique fireflies phenomenon through the forest trail.”

Sounds exciting already? Whether you’re a nature lover or not, this festival is a must-visit, for its unique experience and a fresh take on nature trails. A maximum of 15 people are allowed in a group, and entry is free for children aged 5 years or below. For 6-12 year-olds, entry is half the ticket price.
