Here’s Coachella’s Line-Ups Through The Years

Coachella has firmly cemented it’s place as the most popular music festival in the states since it’s inception back in 1999. Their line-ups have been outstanding ever since, and although the flyers haven’t changed much, the acts they’ve brought down have been getting better each year. Here’s a trip down memory lane:

1999

16 years after being a headliner at Coachella, Beck wins a Grammy. Heh, we kid. Infact he did win one in 2000 for Mutations, long before Kanye West was the ‘apparent’ voice of reason of the music industry.

Take a long and hard look at this poster, Ye.

2001

What! JanesAddiction used to headline festivals that were NOT Lollapalooza? And can we just take a moment to realize Weezer was on the headliner list.

2002

Presenting mother of all that is true and holy, BJORK!  Way before Lady Gaga totally ripped her off.

2003

BEASTIE BOYS BEASTIE BOYS BEASTIE BOYS!

2004

TBH, Radiohead should head every Coachella.

2005

Coldplay, Nine Inch Nails, Keane, Snow Patrol, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy. Back when the EDM, synth and Indie rock didn’t dominate the charts.

2006

Sigur Ros!!!!!!!!!

2007

RATM’s secong time headlining this awesome festival. For good reason of course.

2008

The year when most of us discovered the beauty that was Death Cab for Cutie.

2009

*hums The Killers’ When We Were Young*

2010

A year remembered by Gorillaz’s Plastic Beach Album and of course their massive hit single ‘Stylo’

2011

Time to whip your magnifying glasses, folks.

2012

Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and a very life-like Tupac Shakur hologram. Damn.

2013

Who are The Stone Roses?

2014

The year when the kids at Coachella were too musically stunted to appreciate the awesomeness that is Outkast.

2015

The most instagram-ble poster in Coachella history. Dat galaxy print tho.

ALSO KNOWN AS THE YEAR WHEN WE SAW MADONNA MACKIN ON DRAKE.

The second weekend kicks off this Friday, check out the schedule HERE.
